Mahfil (1981)
Widower Raghunath Singh lives a very wealthy lifestyle with his daughter, Shalini. While making a presentation on the importance of women, he is shot at by a woman, but is uninjured. Shortly thereafter, Shalini introduces him to her boyfriend, Advocate Ajaykumar Saxena, who turns out to be the nephew of Dindayal, Raghunath’s childhood friend. Raghunath subsequently hires Amar to train Shalini to be a good businesswoman, and expects both to marry soon. Then Shalini finds out that there she has a twin named Ratnabai, who is the daughter of a Courtesan who had been intimate with Raghunath, and was responsible for the attempt on Raghunath’s life. She brings Ratna to her home, much to the chagrin of her dad. Soon Ratna starts to make herself at home in her new surroundings, and her demands start to increase – from mimicking Shalini, to flirting with Ajay.

The Test (1960)
Story of Parakh revolves around prestigious citizens of Radhanagar village. One day Radhanagar’s honest and upright postmaster (Nivaran) receives a letter and a donation cheque of 5,00,000 from Sir Jagdish Rai and so begins the true character test (Parakh) of all the so-called prestigious citizens. This is one of lesser-known gems of Bimal Roy but an absolute must-watch.

Asli Naqli (1962)
Renu lives a poor lifestyle with her family. Shattered and devastated with the deaths of her father and brother, Renu decides to take up the mantle of feeding her family, hiding her dad’s death from her ill and fragile mother, and goes along pretending that her father is still alive. Things brighten up when a homeless young man, Anand, enters her life, both fall in love with each other and want to get married. But once again fate plays a cruel joke on Renu as she subsequently finds out that Anand is not who he claims to be, but is in fact, a playboy, the grandson, nicknamed ‘Prince”, of one of the wealthiest man in town, Dwarkadas, and Anand is scheduled to get married to Rekha – the only heir to a multi-million rupee estate. Watch as events unfold and the effect this news has on the townspeople and Renu’s mom.

Aap Aye Bahaar Ayee (1971)
Rohit, Whiskey, and Kumar (Rajendra Kumar, Rajendra Nath, and Prem Chopra respectively) are childhood friends. While travelling to his estate in the company of Whiskey, Rohit meets with beautiful Neena (Sadhana), and falls in love with her. Subsequently, he meets with her father (Raj Mehra) where they are properly introduced, and she too falls in love with him. Unknowingly, Kumar also sends his proposal for marriage to Neena, but Neena rejects it. Kumar is offended and shortly before the marriage of Neena and Rohit, molests Neena. Rohit and Kumar become enemies, have a fight and Kumar loses sight in his left eye. Feeling that she is not worthly of Rohit anymore, Neena refuses to marry Rohit. Will Rohit and Neena ever get together again? Will they continue to be haunted by Kumar?
