    The Borgias (2011– )

The Borgias is a historical-fiction drama television series, created by Neil Jordan; it debuted in 2011 and ended in 2013.

The series is set around the turn of the 16th century, and follows the Borgia family, an Italian dynasty of Spanish origin. It stars Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander VI with François Arnaud as Cesare, Holliday Grainger as Lucrezia, David Oakes as Juan, and Aidan Alexander as Gioffre Borgia. Colm Feore also stars as Cardinal della Rovere.

It premiered on April 3, 2011, at 9 pm ET on Showtime in the United States and 10 pm Eastern on Bravo! in Canada, and received its first major television network premiere on June 21, 2011, on Canada’s CTV Television Network. The second season premiered on April 8, 2012. On May 4, 2012, Showtime ordered a third season of 10 episodes, which premiered on April 14, 2013.

On June 5, 2013, Showtime cancelled the series, a season short of Jordan’s planned four-season arc for the series. The cancellation was implied to be due to the expense of production, with plans for a two-hour wrap-up finale also scrapped. A fan campaign was started in an attempt to convince Showtime to revive the series. On August 12, 2013, it was announced that the two-hour series finale script would be released as an e-book, after it was determined that a movie would be too expensive to produce.

The Bible Collection – Jesus (1999)

The film is notable for presenting a more human Jesus, compared to more solemn portrayals in earlier films; here Jesus laughs and cries like anyone else. Among other things, he weeps at Joseph’s funeral, throws stones in Lake Galilee when meeting Simon Peter and James son of Zebedee for the first time, dances at the wedding at Cana, and starts a water-splashing fight with his disciples as well. Satan is portrayed as a man in modern dress (and as a woman in red). During his temptation of Jesus, he shows him the Earth from the vantage point of space. Satan also shows Jesus images of wars and destruction carried out in his name. The film adds an apocryphal Roman historian named “Livio” who watches and comments as events unfold; he is presumably named after Livy.

    The Story of India (2007)

The Story of India is a BBC TV documentary series, written and presented by historian Michael Wood, about the 10,000-year history of the Indian subcontinent in six episodes. It was originally aired on the BBC in six episodes in August and September 2007 as part of the BBC season “India and Pakistan 07”, which marked the 60 years independence of India and Pakistan. In the United States, PBS broadcast the series on three consecutive Mondays, 5 January to 19 January 2009, from 9pm to 11pm. In Australia, the series was broadcast on ABC1 each Sunday at 7:30pm from 29 March until 3 May 2009. An accompanying text was published by BBC Books. As in most of his documentaries, Wood explains historical events by travelling to the places where they took place, examining archeological and historical evidence at first hand and interviewing historians and archaeologists, as well as chatting with local people.

Path to Paradise: The Untold Story of the World Trade Center Bombing

The incredible story of the events leading up to the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York and the capture of the terrorists. The amazing thing is that the FBI had an informant among the terrorists, but refused to pay him $500/wk for more information. They eventually had to pay $1 million and place him in the witness protection program. A story of incompetence on all sides.
