    Young Doctors in Love (1982)

An “Airplane!”-style spoof of hospital soap operas: a brilliant young trainee can’t stand the sight of blood; a doctor romances the head nurse in order to get the key to the drugs cabinet; there’s a mafioso on the loose disguised as a woman – in other words all the usual ingredients present and correct, though in this case the laughs are intentional.

    Hello Yasothorn 3 (2013)

This is the 3rd installment of Yam Sasothorn. After the commercial success of Yam Yasothon and its sequel, comedian-turned-director Petchtai Wongkamlao, better known Mum Jokmok, is back with a third installment of the romantic comedy set in the Northeastern province of Yasothon. Billed as an Isaan version of Romeo and Juliet, the film’s cast this time around includes Mum’s own wife, Endoo Wongkamlao, adding to Mum’s son and relatives who all play a part. With its simple narrative of starcrossed lovers and sparring families, the crazy clown caper somewhat lives up to expectations.

    This is Sanlitun (2013)

British sad sack Gary is a failed entrepreneur who has just arrived in Beijing’s stylish Sanlitun district, allegedly to start a business. There are other reasons why he has uprooted himself — he’s followed his ex-wife and young son, for one — but he soon finds out that China isn’t the easiest place to succeed. Blissfully untouched by self-awareness, and only fitfully in tune with reality, Gary sallies forth to make money, armed with faith in himself and little to no knowledge of Chinese culture. He soon hooks up with Frank, a trust-fund kid from Australia who offers to mentor Gary in Eastern ways, although Frank’s pedagogical method is restricted to yelling at Gary for being a Westerner and not being as “Chinese” as him.

Lisa Lampanelli: Long Live The Queen (2009)

More than just a stand-up, the lovable Queen Of Mean is at it again…and no one is immune as Lisa takes off the gloves and delivers an unrelenting barrage of political incorrectness and ‘shoot from the lip’ observations. Never shy about engaging in controversy, she deftly navigates the social taboos, stereotypes, and cultural differences that even the boldest of today’s comedians would rarely broach.
