Hum Tum
Two old friends Asif and Shagufta meet each other after a very long time and come to know about each other’s circumstances. Shagufta’s husband had divorced her while Asif’s wife died at the time of their third child. They decide to marry each other but their teenaged children oppose this. But Asif weds Shagufta and brings her home, the younger children accept this wedding but Ali, the eldest son of Asif, and Amal, the eldest daughter of Shagufta, who hate each other, refuse to give in. After a while their hatred alleviate lessen and later they start liking each other. Asif’s business takes a downturn and he, with his family, has to move to a flat. Here, the new neighbors object to Ali and Amal’s interest in each other. The story comes to a point where, due to the narrow-minded voices of the society, new relations are not allowed to prosper in order to save old ones.

The story of ‘Kehkashan’ or Kuku as she is affectionately known by her family. Kuku belongs to a very conservative but affluent family and has lived in Pakistan all her life. She has been brought up to believe that ‘parents always know best’ when it comes to important decisions in life. Although an active student and outspoken debater, Kuku has no say at all at home and always has to bow her head in respect of her parents’ decisions.
